“Some of these tales take on a poe-esque quality, while others a more Lovecraftian tone, and then we find those that bestow upon us the moral musings of Rod Serling. Yeah, these stories are good!—Horror Novel Reviews
“I think I can safely say that this collection is one of my all-time favourites. There is such a variety of stories in here that there will definitely be something for everyone in it”.—Confessions of a Reviewer
“Not a squall, not a blizzard … It’s a pulp horror AVALANCHE! That’s Kenneth W. Cain’s new collection, Embers.”—Mort Castle, Bram Stoker Award® winner
“You’ll need some genuine embers to warm you after this, for some of these tales will chill you to the core.”—Jim Goforth, author of PLEBS and THE SLEEP

WHERE NIGHTMARES COME FROM
All money will be used to pay authors (with the editors getting their cut), with any surplus going into marketing. These are very expensive (but amazing) books to compile, and these authors deserve top payment. You’ll get each book a week or two before their respective releases. I might even draw a signed paperback winner from all the names who put in a pre-order.
Stacy and I are excited to announce the fall dates for our CULTIVATE women’s writing & meditation retreat in Hood River, Oregon. Join us November 3-5 for group writing, mindfulness, and self-expression exercises, all accompanied by a stunning view of Mt Adams and the Columbia River Gorge. Our fall retreat is limited to 10 women. We have single and double rooms available this time. Early bird pricing through June 30th! Here’s what one participant at our March 2017 retreat had to say about the experience: “You created such a powerful and engaging experience, a refuge from the daily grind, and it was exactly what I needed. I think I can safely say it was exactly what we all needed. There was a wide range of writing and meditation experience, and everyone seemed to share a similar experience of connection and heart opening transformation. This doesn’t just happen by accident, this was a result of the thoughtfulness and care you put into planning the retreat for us. So. Much. Love.”

Kobe: (crying uncontrollably)
Dad: Buddy, what’s wrong?
Kobe: Ms. Kolea said I have to sleep with girls!
Dad: Sleep with girls?
Kobe: (nodding silently through tear filled eyes)
Dad: You mean in the tent on the field trip?
Kobe: I want to sleep with my friends! No way am I going if I have to sleep in the girl tent.
Niko: It’s true…you shouldn’t! There’s no surviving girl farts! Hahah.
Kobe: I mean it! Everyone will tease me if I sleep in the girl tent.
Niko: Yeah and you know the girls will try to kiss you all night..hahahaa! While they’re farting all over you! Hahaha.
Kobe: Shut up!
Dad: Ok buddy, I’ll talk to Kolea tomorrow. We’ll get it worked out, I promise. But I guarantee you, someday sleeping in a tent full of girls won’t sound so bad…even if they’re farting.
Niko: I’ll never sleep in a tent full of girls! That’s practically suicide!

Czech breakfast exploration: I walk into this cute bistro to have breakfast by myself, and the waitress doesn’t speak English, the menu is all in Czech and I don’t want the sandwiches, which were the only pictures showing what they had. I look at all the tables and everybody is having the same thing, so I pointed at it, somehow figured out she was asking me if I wanted coffee or tea with it, and am pleasantly surprised! Despite the different way it looks, the scrambled eggs are just delicious! Life flows easily when I’m open to stretch myself! #EnjoyTheRideEveryMoment
